In an effort to provide outstanding coverage of the Games prior and during the event SPGA has teamed up with worldwide sports broadcast specialists, Octagon, and the Samoan Broadcasting Corporation to ensure that this goal is achieved.
Whilst the Samoan Broadcasting Corporation has secured the exclusive rights to the Games as the ‘Official SPG TV Partner’, the Octagon CSI team, in conjunction with SPGA, has also ensured that the Games will be seen in over 20 countries, including Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Tonga, Solomon Islands and PNG.
During the games the broadcast will include the Opening and Closing ceremony, a daily feed of sports highlights for 12 days and a total of 77 hours of sports actions, covering everything from Judo to Rugby.

Pre-Games Broadcast
SPG Updates
In order to spread the message of the Games and encourage education and inter-country dialogue SBC are producing a series of 20-minute programs each week for the duration of the year leading up to the games. These ‘SPG Updates’ traces various dimensions to the games, from country and sporting profiles to venue updates and highlights of the latest news from SPGA.
SPG Vignettes
The South Pacific Games Authority will now also be airing a series of vignettes covering four themes: Stars of the Games, Great Games Moments, Snapshots of Samoa and Live the Dream.
Both programs will be screened weekly for the entire countdown.
The Cook Islands, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Tonga and Vanuatu will also be broadcasting all the programs regularly.
