
ANZ bank is the new presenting partner for the 2007 South Pacific Games, announcing their commitment to the Games with a $1.5 million dollar sponsorship package.
“Here at the ANZ, we know how much Pacific people love their sport, it is something they excel at. We are excited to show our support and to be a part of what will no doubt be the premiere sports event of 2007,” said chief executive officer Mandy Simpson.
To mark the sponsorship launch, part of downtown Apia was closed off this afternoon for a street parade that included dancers, performing artists and giveaways.
Games CEO Fonoti Etuale welcomed the ANZ commitment to the region and the games.
“I believe that without this generous support, these games would most likely not happen. I thank sincerely the ANZ and all our sponsors for their vision and their belief in the South Pacific Games,” he said.
