Traveling around Samoa is very easy and relatively safe.

Traffic in Samoa  travels on the right-hand side of the road, so if this is different to your home country please be careful to look the right way if you are a pedestrian or driving a vehicle.

There are three ways to travel the islands – taxi, bus and private car.

There is an abundance of taxi services in Samoa Rates for journeys between two destinations in Samoaare a set price, so it is not appropriate to bargain, as it is in other countries. Please agree to the price for your journey when you hail the taxi.

Catching a Samoan bus is a special experience and may be different to your public transport experiences at home. Buses in Samoa are colorful, musical social arenas.

If the bus is full, it is often appropriate to sit on a fellow passenger or for another passenger to sit on you, the general rule being to refrain from sitting on elderly people where possible. Your bus fare in Samoa is paid when you are leaving the bus.
